Assembly Manager

Your Role

As Assembly Manager, you are responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and continuous improvement of the assembly area. The most critical responsibility of this role is managing and stabilizing daily operations through effective general task management, rooted in Toyota Production System (TPS) principles. You will ensure safe, stable, and efficient operations while driving sustainable performance improvements across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and morale.

  • Full responsibility for general task management in assembly, including daily management routines, tier meetings, shop floor control, and escalation discipline
  • Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and team leaders in Toyota Production System (TPS) fundamentals (standard work, 5S, visual management, Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA), problem solving)
  • Ensure stable production flow by managing manpower, skills, materials, equipment availability, and takt adherence
  • Drive continuous improvement activities using TPS / Huf Production System (HPS) tools (A3, Kaizen, problem solving based on root cause)
  • Own assembly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Productivity and ensure transparency through visual management
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Plastics, Paint, Quality, Supply Chain Management (SCM), Maintenance, Engineering, and Human Resources (HR) to resolve operational issues
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and company standards
  • Actively contribute to plant targets and strategic initiatives

Your Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field
  • Strong, hands-on experience with Toyota Production System (TPS) or equivalent Lean production systems is required
  • Proven experience in managing shopfloor operations with a strong focus on daily management and standard work
  • Several years of leadership experience in assembly or manufacturing environments, preferably automotive
  • Strong coaching and leadership skills with a shopfloor-oriented mindset
  • Structured, data-driven problem-solving skills (PDCA, A3, 6M)
  • Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced production environment
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to lead change
