Your Role
- Close cooperation with the Development Department (PD) with regard to part design and its implementation in the construction of injection moulds (frontloading)
- Development of injection concepts and hot runner designs.
- Analyzing filling and warpage simulations and evaluating them with regard to quality requirements.
- Assessment of tolerance design and feasibility based on design, shrinkage and simulation.
- Developing solutions to be able to manufacture components using the injection moulding process.
- Close cooperation with the respective mould maker to produce the moulds.
- Development of cost-effective solutions to optimize materials and resources optimize materials and resources and reduce production costs without compromising quality.
- Cost-related development of mould concepts in the acquisition phase.
- Developing/optimizing our mould standards for the Huf Group with regard to mould production.
- Checking existing mould designs (internal / external) and evaluating the quality.
- Project-related close cooperation with the IMPE and IMPM teams.
- Continuous work on the identification and implementation of improvement opportunities in relation to mould construction in the field of plastic injection moulding.
- Supporting the training of employees in terms of mould construction and part design.
- Develop a detailed Project plan to monitor and track progress of all Projects.
- Training of new employees in the area of mould construction/design.
- Creating mould concepts and presenting them.
Your Skills
- Successfully completed studies/bachelor's/master's degree in mould making or a comparable qualification with several years of experience in mould making.
- Knowledge of common manufacturing processes (milling, turning, grinding, eroding, laser welding)
- Sound knowledge of mould design for injection moulds.
- Knowledge in the areas of laser welding of plastics, laser texturing and chemical graining of mould components
- .Knowledge of the injection moulding process and the associated plastics.
- Basic knowledge of electrics, hydraulics and pneumatics desirable.
- Confident handling of Catia V5 software, MS Office
- Basic knowledge of GOM software and mould flow desirable.
- Good knowledge of common quality assurance procedures and tools.
- Experience with contoured cooling.
- Ability to work in a team and good communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, commitment and flexibility
- Concentrated and reliable work, even under pressure
- Analytical mindset and ability to solve complex problems
- Business fluent in English
- Willingness to travel at home and abroad to the production plants and/or toolmakers
